We are so blessed to serve the Lord
as a part of the World Compassion family
Since February 1, 2021 in Myanmar, the political situation has unexpectedly changed. The military junta has seized the leadership power illegally, and since then, they have been trying to abuse the power they robbed from our elected government. The terrible situation is still happening in Myanmar right now.
Since 2020, COVID-19 has been threatening all countries around the world, and Myanmar is no exception.
Due to these unavoidable challenges, Myanmar has faced an economic and financial crisis as well.
Many people have lost their jobs and they are in hopeless situations.
We really had a desire to help our people and felt that this was the great opportunity to let them know there is hope in God who is alive and is able to save them.
At that time, our Myanmar team received a call from Pastor Jason Law and sister Amanda that the generous people at World Compassion were willing to give some gifts for people who are in need physically and spiritually.
After that we arranged to buy food supplies and prepared the bags to be handed out to the needy. At the time we bought the food items, the political situation was very bad and it was unsafe to go outside.
However, God has protected us and helped us to find the best store to buy the food supplies even where the things we needed were almost out of stock. We were just in time to get the different kinds of stuff we wanted for the families. We also put The Story of Jesus and another Gospel booklet in the bags.
There are many people in Yangon and in sub-areas of Yangon who are so poor that they have no regular meals even for a day. God has led our team to find the right people who are in need of these packages.
We also contacted the local pastors to help this outreach project. They invited the families in their neighbourhood that they have been sharing the good news with to receive the packages.
These packages were used to show God’s love and provision so that the local pastors would be able to reach out to these families to make a follow-up visit, pray for them, and share Jesus with them.
It is such a holistic ministry. We give food, and we share the Gospel. What a great opportunity for us even in the midst of tragedy!
Finally, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to those who participate generously to bring these packages into reality.
Without your prayer and financial support, there is no way to make this happen.
We are praying that God would open the hearts of the people who have heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
May the Lord continually use the World Compassion team as salt and light in this world!
