Just imagine if you walked through life in this little boy’s shoes. What is he thinking as he rolls around on this rubber tire in the late months of fall, high in the brisk air of the Koh-e-Baba mountain range? It’s easy for us to think these young, innocent children have little to look forward to in life.

However, that is not what this boy is thinking. He sits in the courtyard of compassion. A place of refuge from the hopeless future that might have been. He plays on this tire after sitting in a classroom full of excited students who have the opportunity to take free classes learning the world’s most widely-spoken language: English.

#iamafghanistan is about hope. And this is a picture of just that.
