He stopped his education after the 8th grade because he failed an exam. Now he is married and is selling materials (bubble blowers) on the ferry to support his life. He has no aspiration for the future.
It’s amazing to see the difference between this man and the 22 children currently living in the World Compassion orphanage in Burma. These children, abandoned and left behind by their families, likely would have ended up in a similar situation as the Boat Seller, with no aspirations or hope. Instead, they have been rescued in love, empowered with the safety and security they need to dream big dreams for their lives and for their nation.
Saw Kant Way Tun wants to be an engineer and has no doubt that one day his dream will come true. He is already confidently building boats and swords for the other children to play with.
