Our Spiritual Weapons

What are our weapons? How do we identify them? I think there is a great misunderstanding in the Body of Christ as to what our spiritual weapons really are. Many people say that prayer is a spiritual weapon – it is not. Some people would say that speaking in tongues is a spiritual weapon – it is not.

2 Corinthians 10:4: For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds.

Notice that we Christians are equipped with weapons, mighty weapons, which are able to tear down strongholds set up by the enemy, Satan.

What are our weapons? How do we identify them? I think there is a great misunderstanding in the Body of Christ as to what our spiritual weapons really are. Many people say that prayer is a spiritual weapon – it is not. Some people would say that speaking in tongues is a spiritual weapon – it is not.

There are three things identified in the Word of God as spiritual weapons for use by believers: 1) the Word of God, 2) the Name of Jesus, and 3) the Blood of Christ.

These three weapons of the Word, the Name, and the Blood are for the believer to use to overcome the enemy and to tear down his strongholds in our lives and the lives of others. As we learn how to use these weapons, we move into a power with God like we’ve never known before.
