Hospital Battlefield

I heard people screaming. I was in the hospital and the Syrian Soldiers were shooting civilians outside the six story hospital, bullets were hitting our building. All the hospital workers ran to the basement and left all the patients that could not run.

I heard people screaming. I was in the hospital and the Syrian Soldiers were shooting civilians outside the six story hospital, bullets were hitting our building. All the hospital workers ran to the basement and left all the patients that could not run.

I asked a friend to help me move patients from the six floor to the basement. My friend and I stepped into the intensive care room just as two missiles hit the hospital. The explosion was intense, everything went black as my body was thrown across the room. Fortunately my friend and I suffered only minor injuries. Light poured through missing sections of the walls as dust filled the air.

I cut the cables and tubes that were connected to one patient and carried him on my back to the basement, down six flights of stairs. Fortunately I was fine. I was only covered with dust, sweat, and others’ blood. I wonder if the memories will ever heal.
