We are moving God’s Word into the hands and the hearts of the people of Iran.
To date, we have moved over 325,000 Bibles into Iran.
We have our sights set on half a million – 500,000.
These are just a few of the stories of life-change we are hearing from our network leaders.
Ahsan was born into a religious family where his father was an Islamic cleric who adhered strongly to the Islamic regulations. At the age of 12, Ahsan’s father passed away as a result of an accident. Shortly after, when Ahsan began working as a teenager, he frequented a mosque that was closely associated with the Basij force which is associated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard.
Although Ahsan witnessed some injustices, he prioritized the preservation and protection of the Islamic Republic, and his belief was that any price should be paid to keep Islam in Iran. Despite making all efforts to serve Allah in Islam and the Islamic Republic, he always felt a lot of sadness within himself and never felt joy about the things he did.
Ahsan married the daughter of a cleric who loved to talk about the country’s conditions or matters related to Islamic regulations at gatherings. At one of those gatherings, when they were talking about the necessity of Islamic propagation, suddenly his father-in-law took a book out of his bag and told him: “We should learn from these Christians. Some time ago, I saw an article on the Internet that said if you want to get acquainted with Christianity, we will send you a free book. And just because I wanted to see if it’s true or not, I gave my address. To my surprise, they sent the book to me after two days.” He then gave the book to Ahsan to see, but forgot to take the book back home with him. Ahsan put the book in his library and didn’t even open it to read it.
When the news of the Hamas attack on Israel spread to Iran, Ahsan was very excited about it – to the point where he held a small celebration in the street to celebrate. But, to his surprise very few people came to him to celebrate. After a few hours, he went to the mosque, where an Imam was saying bad things about Israel and portraying it as a bloody and looting enemy of the Iranians throughout history. As he returned home, he was getting dressed and suddenly his eyes fell on the book in his library and his father-in-law’s words.
As he picked up the book and started reading it – he felt a great peace within himself and the more he read, the more he became interested. Hours passed, and he continued reading until he reached the sentence “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.’ Ahsan said to himself, “I’ve been looking for you for years, but I couldn’t find you, and I didn’t recognize you. But today, I truly know you and see you.”
Ahsan called the number on the back of the book and gave his heart to Christ. After sharing with his wife only after a few days, she also gave her heart to Christ. They threw away all the books related to Islam and anything related to Islam. They now read the word of God every day and participate with others on the Internet.
When his wife’s father realized their Christian faith and threatened them, Ahsan and his family said “Nothing can take away from us what have found because when God is with us, who can be against us.”
When Mehar was 16 years old, her father was imprisoned for selling alcoholic beverages. As a result, her mother had to work to support the family and clean other people’s houses, even taking Mehar with her when schools were closed. One day, Mehar’s mother went to an Islamic religious ceremony at a cleric’s house, taking Mehar with her. They had to arrive hours before the event to prepare food, set up the tables, and buy necessary supplies.
When they arrived, Mehar’s mother got busy with the preparations, and Mehar was arranging fruits. However, the cleric started touching Mehar’s body and, when she protested, he forcibly assaulted her. Overwhelmed by the mental pressure and fear, Mehar lost consciousness. When she woke up, she was in the hospital. Meanwhile, her mother had reported the incident to the authorities. Still, due to the cleric’s connections, not only did they not investigate the complaint, but they also threatened her mother to take her daughter away because of her lack of qualifications.
When Mehar’s father, who was in prison, found out about the situation, he suffered a nervous breakdown and attempted suicide but survived and was transferred to a psychiatric hospital within the prison. After a while, he was released due to his physical and mental condition, but he couldn’t speak. He spent most of his time asleep due to the medication he was on, and when he was awake, he could only stare blankly for hours.
Some time passed, and Mehar grew to despise religion and religious people because of her experiences. Despite her strong desire to study and become a doctor, Mehar couldn’t continue her education due to her family’s circumstances and her own mental issues. She attempted to work several times, but her nervous problems prevented her from holding a job for long. She occasionally had to go to other people’s houses for cleaning, alongside her mother.
One day, while working at a house, Mehar overheard a conversation between the homeowner and his friend. The friend kept talking about God, and Mehar, who was averse to religion, tried to block out their words by listening to music. However, a particular sentence caught her attention: “God’s heart aches for the woman whose son has died.” Intrigued, Mehar asked the homeowner about the meaning of that statement. He explained that his friend had been trying to convert him to Christianity, but he didn’t pay much attention to it. Mehar asked if she could have the book that her friend had brought, and the homeowner agreed.
She took the book home and began reading it. It was as if time stood still for her as she immersed herself in the words. She cried while reading and felt her heart touched by the message. She thought, “If God cares for me and feels my pain, then this is different!” She started calling the phone numbers written in the book and began talking to her father about Jesus. One day, her father, who had been unable to speak, suddenly exclaimed, “Jesus is the Lord!” and his speech returned.
Today, all members of her family have embraced faith in Christ, and their once sorrowful home has become a place of joy and worship.
