While headlines swirl about the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, an even more powerful story is unfolding in living rooms, back alleys, and hidden church gatherings across Iran — one of faith over fear, and hope over hostility.
World Compassion is in close, daily contact with pastors and network leaders inside Iran. Their voices echo with urgency and clarity: this is a time of great danger, but also great spiritual opportunity.
Communication is being choked off. Even using VPNs—a typical workaround—is now unreliable. The regime is afraid. Afraid of revolution. Afraid of influence. Afraid of truth getting out.
And yet, God is on the move.
One leader shared that instead of gathering weekly, many believers are meeting every single day to pray. They’re afraid—but excited. Nervous—but unified. Their gatherings are not quiet. They’re full of bold prayers, open hearts, and raw faith.
Meanwhile, Tehran is tense. With exit roads bombed and fuel in short supply, many are trying to flee—but can’t. In response, pastors outside the city are opening their homes, becoming places of refuge for believers in this dark hour.
What’s striking is the shift in perspective. Iranian civilians are beginning to realize: Israel is targeting military sites—not people. Sadly, those military and nuclear facilities are built near civilian areas. Unlike Israel, which provides bomb shelters, the Iranian government leaves its people exposed. The population is beginning to connect the dots.
A powerful moment came when a neighbor asked one of the Christian leaders:
“Why are you so calm?”
He didn’t get to share the Gospel in that moment—but the door is opening.
Meanwhile, the Church continues to grow and build:
On the first day of the war, one group gathered 60 people. All 60 were baptized.
This isn’t just a Church staying faithful—it’s a Church on fire.
“This isn’t about Israel versus Iran. For us, this is about reaching people.”
The Church’s mission in this time in Iran is not political. It’s spiritual. World Compassion and the network of underground pastors and leaders we know are focused on advancing the Kingdom of God—bringing the Gospel to Iranians, Israelis, and everyone in between.
As conflict intensifies, the Church is rising, and believers around the world have the opportunity to be part of it. Your support helps fuel this mission—literally and spiritually.
The Kingdom is advancing. Will we be a part of it?
