We have a team heading to China today to conduct the annual World Compassion Pastors Conference. This conference brings together many pastors who use our ABC Bible Training Curriculum to disciple their leaders within their house churches.
It’s a time to give pastors the skills they need to improve their church discipleship programs and refresh their ministries.
This year we have many exciting new objectives for our trip.
We have expanded the pastors conference to two locations, effectively doubling the number of pastors who can attend and training more pastors in a larger geographical area.
At these conferences, we’ll also unveil the online version of ABC. With over 15,000 new believers coming to the Lord each day throughout China, this new website will provide an incredible opportunity to exponentially ramp up student registrations and increase the volume of believers we can train.
Additionally, we are connecting pastors with a church planting movement that can provide funding for new church plants. We want to encourage the Chinese church to keep expanding! And we hope to see ABC graduates receive funding for church planting.
Last year, the police raided our conference and we had to cancel the program early.
Fortunately, those arrested were quickly released, and our team of Americans safely left the country undetected.
Over the last year, we have waited with anticipation to get back to China to finish what we started at the last conference!
It’s such an exciting time for our team.

The conference costs $125 (£78) per pastor to attend. World Compassion invests this into each pastor’s ministry, covering the cost of 200 pastors to attend. Would you consider providing a gift that will cover the cost for one or a couple of the 200 pastors at the conference this year?
