A Risk Worth Taking

The Bible is the number one best-selling book of all time. In America, churches are often full of them, schools and libraries stock them, and even hotel rooms often have one sitting in a drawer somewhere.

The Bible is the number one best-selling book of all time. In America, churches are often full of them, schools and libraries stock them, and even hotel rooms often have one sitting in a drawer somewhere.

Countless lives have been changed by the Word of God, whether someone intentionally reads it or stumbles upon it.

The Bible brings life to those who believe its message of salvation, but in some parts of the world, giving out a Bible puts believers at extreme risk.

“I was put in jail and told if I continued (to hand out Bibles) that I would die or be in prison forever, but it is worth it. Nothing compares to when we have an actual printed Bible and get to hold the Word of God in our own hands.”

This is a testimony of one of World Compassion’s contacts in a nation restricted the Gospel who risks it all to bring a life-giving message to his nation. This is only one account of the many pastors and missionaries who have been removed from the country or killed for spreading the Gospel.

In many nations, radical beliefs rule the the country and are enforced by radical government leaders. However, in spite of these circumstances, World Compassion has been able to deliver tens of thousands of Bibles to nations that are hostile to the Gospel, bringing hope and light into the darkness. It has been risky, but worth it, to push back against these persecutions and bring life and Truth to believers who do not share the same freedoms that we do.

When the Bibles reach their destination, they are given to pastors, who then distribute them to new believers or those who are searching for answers.

The Bible is described as “living and active, sharper than any double-edged sword,” and it is the most effective weapon against spiritual enemies (Heb. 4:12) – People in these restricted nations need this gift now more than ever!

Please join us in praying for the safe delivery of our next shipment of more 108,000 Bibles and that the hearts and minds of the people who receive them will be transformed.

You can help bring Truth to the people of Iran by purchasing Bibles to be delivered. Each Bible costs only $6.00 (£4.62) to send to Iran. Each Bible changes a life forever.
